Overwatch 2 Latest Patch Notes: May 8, 2025

Blizzard just dropped a new balance hotfix for Overwatch 2 focused on refining Stadium mode and shifting the current meta. The update targets overperforming tanks, tunes supports, and gives long-overdue buffs to heroes like Ashe and Moira.

D.Va Gets Beam Counter Buffs

D.Va now has better tools to deal with beam damage. Defense Matrix-based builds get several buffs:

• Faster recovery and longer duration
• Lower mitigation thresholds for Power and Item abilities
• Plot Armor now counts reduced damage as mitigated

Junker Queen Mobility Nerfed

Junker Queen’s brawling power gets scaled back. Her speed and aggression are now limited:

• Reduced Ability and Move Speed bonuses
• Increased Attack Speed near wounded enemies to balance her frontline pressure

Reinhardt’s Speed and Burst Damage Cut

Reinhardt loses some of his crowd-control dominance:

• Fire Strike burst damage reduced
• Move Speed stacking toned down (tooltip bug acknowledged)

Zarya’s Tanky DPS Build Hit

Zarya’s Weapon Power build is less tanky:

• Reduced Particle Barrier scaling
• Lifesteal from Pre-Workout lowered

Ashe Gets Late-Game Boost

Ashe becomes a more viable pick across skill levels:

• Increased damage stacking from unscoped shots
• B.O.B. Jr. slows less
• Burning target bonus now applies to all of Ashe’s damage

Lúcio’s Healing Tuned Down, Weapon Builds Buffed

Lúcio’s healing builds were too strong. Blizzard cut healing numbers but gave Weapon Power builds a lift:

• Reduced healing output across multiple powers
• Increased healing from damage and damage boosts for alternative builds

Moira’s Underused Powers Buffed

Two of Moira’s lesser-used Powers now perform better:

• Biotic Grasp heals more with Precarious Potency
• Coalescence is more effective with Destruction’s Divide

General Item Changes Hit Move Speed and Damage

• Booster Jets: Move Speed on ability use cut to 10%
• Nebula Conduit: Weapon Power dropped from 10% to 5%
